According to a recent investigation, the Sphinx probably portrays pharaoh Khafre. Though judging from the cheeckbones, I think it looks more like a woman.

The nose was cut off by an Arab in the 15th century. Napoleon's soldiers also took some shots at the head. It's fallen beard is on display in London's British Museum.

A "false door" inside a tomb near the Khufu pyramid. These doors where considered magic by the ancient Egyptians, in other words the spirit of the one burried behind could pass, while the living can't...

(Entrance.) Inside: a.o. Akhenaten (Achnaton) statues, animal mummies, the Royal Mummy Room, Book of the Dead scrolls and the Tutankhamun galleries (with the famous golden deathmask). Unfortunuately cameras weren't allowed inside :(
